GET-UP IN SPACE AND TIME

Long ago (in 2003) GET-UP successfully organized for an election - that is to say, the students at Penn were given a chance to vote on whether they wanted a union. When it looked like GET-UP was winning the vote, the Penn administrators seized the ballots and fought the election in court until the National Labor Relations Board overturned a previous ruling, declaring that graduate students lacked the rights of employees to bargain collectively.
